Oxytocin Acetate · Usage reference (for research purposes)

The following presents common research-context references for reconstitution, storage, dosage and cycles. The following presents common references in research settings. This page does not constitute advice for use in humans or animals.

🧪Reconstitution

Suggested Diluent
Bacteriostatic Water (containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol); some peptides may use sterile water or acetic acid to aid dissolution. See the individual product descriptions.
Diluent Volume
Slowly introduce the diluent along the vial wall until the lyophilized powder is covered. A common example is 5 mg reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, yielding approximately 2.5 mg/mL. Referenced reconstitution volumes are approximately 1–2.5 mL, with 2 mL commonly used. It is suggested to select and record a fixed volume based on the COA supplied with the purchase.
Handling Notes
Introduce the diluent slowly along the vial wall rather than directly onto the lyophilized powder. Leave it for 60–90 seconds to dissolve naturally; do not shake vigorously.

💾Storage

Unreconstituted Lyophilized Powder
Refrigerate at 2–8°C, protected from light; avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
After Reconstitution
Refrigerate at 2–8°C; a common recommendation is touse within 28 days; do not freeze.
Transport
For short periods, use insulated packaging with ice packs; avoid high temperatures and direct light.

Research SummaryKey Findings

What research findings exist regarding Oxytocin Acetate in uterine contractions and postpartum hemorrhage prevention?

Earlier initiated study showed less intraoperative blood loss and hemoglobin decrease in infusion group, supporting study on optimal obstetric administration timing. Additional research reports: less severe postpartum hemorrhage, transfusion, and high-dependency unit admission in intravenous group.[1] ↗ [2] ↗

Before ReadingStudy populations, species, formulations and delivery conditions each have a defined scope. Research on an ingredient does not establish that this site's product batches have been validated for efficacy in humans or veterinary use.

What findings are there on the timing of infusion in scheduled cesarean sections?

Research Findings

Earlier initiated study showed less intraoperative blood loss and hemoglobin decrease in infusion group, supporting study on optimal obstetric administration timing.[1] ↗

Study Design

68 women with full-term elective cesarean; open randomized infusion timing comparison.

Scope & Limitations

Small-sample single-center open trial, specific clinical protocol; cannot be converted to personal use or site research product use.

Are the endpoints of postpartum hemorrhage consistent across different routes?

Research Findings

Severe postpartum hemorrhage in the intravenous group, transfusion, and ICU admission are rare.[2] ↗

Study Design

1,075 women planning vaginal delivery were randomly assigned; 1,035 included in analysis; comparison by route

Scope & Limitations

Major ≥500mL bleeding endpoint did not reach significant intergroup difference; historical study in 2018, does not mean all endpoints improved.

What are the results of post-partum hemorrhage prevention in cluster randomized trials?

Research Findings

The incidence of postpartum hemorrhage in the prophylactic clinical oxytocin intervention group is lower than in the control group not given this preventive intervention.[3] ↗

Study Design

A cluster randomized trial including 54 community health personnel; 1,586 postpartum women.

Scope & Limitations

Non-blinded, unequal group numbers, and specific service systems; does not support research raw materials for labor, nor is it a self-use recommendation.

Oxytocin Acetate · Frequently Asked Questions.

What research findings exist regarding Oxytocin Acetate in uterine contractions and postpartum hemorrhage prevention?+

Earlier initiated study showed less intraoperative blood loss and hemoglobin decrease in infusion group, supporting study on optimal obstetric administration timing. Additional research reports: less severe postpartum hemorrhage, transfusion, and high-dependency unit admission in intravenous group.[1] ↗ [2] ↗

In postpartum hemorrhage studies, were all endpoints improved?+

No. In pathway comparison trials, minor endpoints such as severe postpartum hemorrhage and transfusion were better, but the primary ≥500mL bleeding endpoint did not show significant intergroup differences. Different endpoints should be stated separately, and clinical research does not verify the research materials on this site.[2] ↗

Oxytocin Acetate—these conclusions apply to which study populations?+

68 women with full-term elective cesarean; open randomized infusion timing comparison; 1,075 women planning vaginal delivery were randomly assigned, 1,035 included in analysis; route comparison; a cluster randomized trial in Ghana with 54 community health workers; 1,586 mothers.
