MT-I · Usage reference (for research purposes)

The following presents common research-context references for reconstitution, storage, dosage and cycles. The following presents common references in research settings. This page does not constitute advice for use in humans or animals.

🧪Reconstitution

Suggested Diluent
Bacteriostatic Water (containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol); some peptides may use sterile water or acetic acid to aid dissolution. See the individual product descriptions.
Diluent Volume
Slowly introduce the diluent along the vial wall until the lyophilized powder is covered. A common example is 5 mg reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, yielding approximately 2.5 mg/mL. Referenced reconstitution volumes are approximately 1–2.5 mL, with 2 mL commonly used. It is suggested to select and record a fixed volume based on the COA supplied with the purchase.
Handling Notes
Introduce the diluent slowly along the vial wall rather than directly onto the lyophilized powder. Leave it for 60–90 seconds to dissolve naturally; do not shake vigorously.

💾Storage

Unreconstituted Lyophilized Powder
Refrigerate at 2–8°C, protected from light; avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
After Reconstitution
Refrigerate at 2–8°C; a common recommendation is touse within 28 days; do not freeze.
Transport
For short periods, use insulated packaging with ice packs; avoid high temperatures and direct light.

Research SummaryKey Findings

What research findings exist for MT-I regarding skin pigmentation and phototolerance?

Short-term UV erythema dose-response weakened, supporting an in vivo photoprotective mechanism. Additional studies report: improved light tolerance and quality of life, reduced phototoxic reactions.[1] ↗ [2] ↗

Before ReadingStudy populations, species, formulations and delivery conditions each have a defined scope. Research on an ingredient does not establish that this site's product batches have been validated for efficacy in humans or veterinary use.

What was observed in the ultraviolet response study in healthy humans?

Research Findings

Short-term UV erythema dose-response weakened, supporting an in vivo photoprotective mechanism.[1] ↗

Study Design

Exploratory study in healthy humans; 16mg implant

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

MT-I · Frequently Asked Questions.

What research findings exist for MT-I regarding skin pigmentation and phototolerance?+

Short-term UV erythema dose-response weakened, supporting an in vivo photoprotective mechanism. Additional studies report: improved light tolerance and quality of life, reduced phototoxic reactions.[1] ↗ [2] ↗

Is MT-I phototolerance research the same as everyday tanning evidence?+

No. Most data studies Afamelanotide clinical formulations in EPP patients regarding light tolerance and quality of life; MT-I structure must also be verified, and the effect of implants cannot be taken as the tanning promise of ordinary lyophilized vials.[2] ↗ [3] ↗

MT-I—these conclusions apply to which study populations?+

Exploratory study in healthy humans; 16 mg implant; real-world cohort of 20 EPP patients in Austria; observational cohort of EPP patients in Germany. Some minimal erythema dose changes were not significant; does not represent clinical commitment to tanning or skin cancer prevention.[1] ↗ [2] ↗ [3] ↗
